Sweet potatoes

It's a dirty job, but someone has to dig up the most delicious of all potatoes.  My favourite way to eat them is mashed with a good quality sauerkraut, or roasted with olive oil, salt, pepper, coriander and cumin.

Beehive ginger

We have this one in yellow also.  They have taken a few years to settle in and look stunning this summer.

Tomatoes and Cucumbers

Bus stop

A very sweet little bus stop someone has created along our cycling route.  It's at the front of their home and some mornings it is crowded with children and parents all having a chat before heading off for the day.

Morning cycle

Just love our early morning cycles up the valley floor.  The road crosses the creek many times and this is where we stop to drink some water and contemplate just how lucky we are.

Unlike vegetables, I am new to flowers, so they are an experiment in colour, height and abundance.   This spring Phlox has been the best producer of blooms, and has also flowered for a very long time.  Next year I might try to grow them from seed.

Garden edging

Loads of shoveling and mixing concrete and now we have a way around the house without getting clay feet.
