Stage 3

So after a day of shovelling, (thank goodness for the man with the machine or else it would have been alot more work for us), we now have soil!

My favourite part of the garden right now

This is my favourite part of the garden right now. The iris are flowering profusely and the shell ginger is looking like it belongs right there. I love the ginger's cascading flowers, they really do look like shells.

Vegetable garden beds Stage 2

We're at stage 2 of the new vegetable garden beds. They have all been dug in level and supports have been added on the low side so they don't bulge when the soil is added. The potatoes I planted are doing well, but it should be at least another month before the harvest. The best bit starts tomorrow when we have the soil delivered and a man with a machine in to fill them all up. Needless to say I am going to the nursery to buy seedlings today. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

Our rock wall is aging nicely and there is lots of greenery starting to appear in the cracks which is great. I especially love the mosses and ferns.

Sheer mosquito curtains

We've been busy hanging sheer curtains around the deck. We hope they will keep out the mosquitos when we are relaxing out there in summer. I kinda like the way they look too.
